Hi, I’m Amanda.
I spend my days leading technology and infrastructure at Transylvania University, where I serve as Vice President for Infrastructure & CIO. My job is part puzzle-solving, part people-guiding, and part future-building. I believe the physical and digital infrastructure is at its best when it’s not just about spaces and systems, but about the people served.
Before landing in this role, I worked across higher education and tech leadership, building a career on strategy, collaboration, and the occasional “how do we make this chaos work” challenges. Along the way, I earned an MBA from Notre Dame, a PMP certification, and a reputation for building bridges between tech and people.
But here’s the thing: I’m more than my title.
I’m also a writer. I tell stories, sometimes through memoir, sometimes through essays, that wrestle with grit, grace, and the messy process of becoming. Writing is how I make sense of the hard truths I’ve lived and the lessons I’ve learned leading in high-stakes spaces.
This site is where it all comes together. You’ll find:
Leadership essays that go beyond “best practices” and into real-life presence and purpose.
Updates on my books, both memoir and nonfiction, for readers who want stories with grit and heart.
And yes, outside of all that, you’ll usually find me on the deck with a cup of coffee, walking my dogs, or watching a scary movie with my husband (with at least one real-life scream involved).
If you’re here, welcome. Stick around. Read. Reach out. This space is for people who want to lead and live with clarity, and maybe laugh a little along the way.
